Have you signed up for your first cheerleading practice and found yourself asking the same question everyone does?: "What should I wear?"
It might seem like a small concern, but trust us—we've all been there. Some people arrive wearing oversized clothes, others turn up in jeans, and every now and then someone shows up in trainers that are more slippery than supportive.
The good news is that getting ready for your first cheerleading practice is much easier than you might think.
If you're coming to train at Barcelona Bears, here's everything you need to know to feel comfortable and confident from the moment you walk through the door.

What to Wear to Your First Cheerleading Practice
Don't stress about what to wear to your first cheerleading practice. The most important thing is choosing clothing that allows you to move freely.
The best outfit usually includes:
A fitted sports T-shirt or athletic top
Leggings, sports shorts, or training tights
Clean athletic trainers with good support
Long hair tied back
A water bottle
Cheerleading combines jumps, stunts, tumbling, partner lifts, and gymnastics, so comfort is far more important than appearance. You'll be moving throughout the entire practice, so the more comfortable you are, the better your experience will be.
What Not to Wear to Your First Cheerleading Practice

It's completely normal not to know what to expect from a cheerleading class, but there are a few things that are better left at home.
Avoid wearing:
Jeans
Oversized hoodies
Very loose clothing
Jewellery, watches, or bracelets
Worn-out or heavy trainers
During stunts and partner lifts, it's important that both you and your teammates can grip safely. Wearing the right clothing makes every activity more comfortable and much safer.
Do You Need Special Cheerleading Equipment?
No.
For your first cheerleading practice, you don't need a uniform, bows, special cheer shoes, or professional equipment.
Basic sportswear is enough to take part in almost every activity. If you decide to continue training, you'll have plenty of time later to choose the gear that suits you best.
Right now, what matters isn't what you're wearing. What matters is that you show up.
The Most Important Thing to Bring... Doesn't Fit in a Backpack
There's one thing every cheerleader remembers about their first day.
The nerves.
"What if I can't do it?"
"What if everyone is better than me?"
"What if I embarrass myself?"
The reality is usually the complete opposite.
In cheerleading, nobody expects you to arrive knowing how to do stunts or tumbling.
All you need is curiosity, a willingness to learn, and the excitement of trying something new.
Everything else comes with practice.
